Why so serious?

It's a bit after 2 AM.  And I am still awake.

I've been wondering a lot about my future, lately.  I know, it may sound wrong, but in the past few months I really haven't been thinking about it that much.  I guess I'm just too happy being alive presently to think about what will come in the next few months. Or years.

Years. Wow.

Tonight a co-worker of mine shared with me a dream she has for her future.  I thought it was absolutely beautiful.  It wasn't outlandish or completely inconceivable in any way. It wasn't glamorous. It was so simple and so undemanding. But it was beautiful. I knew it honestly was her greatest wish in life- to achieve this thing.  I just loved it.  I know that if she just keeps that mental image of her success, it will happen sooner than later.  I pray to Heavenly Father that she really will reach her goals. She deserves her dreams, like most of the people I've encountered in my tiny little life.

But it made me think: The future.  Scary.  And exciting. I suppose I've just about taken enough time off to relax and just exist, yes?

Yes.

Ugh. I strongly dislike having to take things seriously; it makes me feel old.
