All things lead to your success.

So, here's a thought:

Everyone keeps telling me about the good "change" that's taken place in my life. The funny thing is this - no one can tell me what it is. What's so different? It's a change in personality, I suppose, however slight. And it's completely undetectable to me. To be honest, I thought it was total craziness when people said that to me - "You're different now."

Last week I got an opportunity to finally witness this change. While parked at work, someone slashed two of the tires on Pimp Juice. It was nearly midnight when I found out. I walked into the dim back parking lot and started my car, backing out slowly. Then I got onto Beulah and noticed something was weird. I pulled into the next lot and got out of my car.

Gee. It's a flat.

Oh, but wait.

It's two flats.

And it was midnight.

Normally, I think I would have cried. Or felt a lot of anger towards whoever did that to my car. I mean, it was COMPLETELY SENSELESS. I strive to be a good person and always try to do the right thing, who would do that to me? But in this instance, it kind of struck me as funny - the way this was spectacularly bad. I mean, I'm horribly sleep-deprived and had just been at work for about eight and a half hours. It's midnight. And I have not ONE, but TWO slashed tires. When I decide to walk home - it's starts to sprinkle rain on me. I mean, c'mon! Really? That's just funny, it's so bad. The entire situation - from discovering the two slashed tires, to having it towed, to waiting in the tire shop and having a decrepit old man hit on me - was just funny to me.

I never experienced anger. I never experienced hatred. I never felt personally hurt. That was the change in action. Life is what it is, and your reaction to it, I suppose, is what really determines your reality. I couldn't shake the feeling that this was an opportunity in disguise. For what purpose? I have yet to figure that out. But more and more, I feel that way in life. Maybe it's a symptom of growing up?

Maybe it's something else.

I just got back from my Shock and Awe reunion trip not long ago. I hope to find time to blog about that soon, too.
